WR prospect Marquise Brown to miss combine, pro day after foot surgery

The Arizona Cardinals will certainly have their eyes on a number of wide receiver prospects in preparation for the 2019 NFL draft. They will not be able to do some of the predraft scouting they typically would on one receiver prospect.

Marquise Brown, who caught 75 passes for more than 1,300 yards last year for Oklahoma, will be unable to participate in the NFL combine and his pro day, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Brown underwent foot surgery for a LisFranc injury in January. He should be ready for training camp in July.

Some mock drafts have him going in the middle of the first round and others in the second round. He might have been in consideration for the Cardinals with their second-round pick.

With this surgery, it might complicate things for teams. He can obviously visit with them and interview but he will not be able to do any of the positional drills and foot injuries can be tricky for skill players.

However, his play on the field will show his physical traits and game speed.

Nonetheless, his draft stock might drop some as a result of the surgery.
