WR prospect Denzel Mims had private workout with Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals shut down their team facility earlier in March and the NFL stopped allowing in-person meetings with draft prospects but some had already happened.

The Arizona Cardinals, who have been scouting receivers in the NFL draft, had a private visit with one before the coronavirus pandemic changed things.

According to Draft Wire’s Justin Melo, Arizona met with Baylor receiver Denzel Mims for a private workout.

It happened before the pandemic.

Mims is not expected to be a top-10 pick in the draft and the Cardinals currently do not have a second-round selection, having dealt it to the Houston Texans as part of the trade to acquire receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Mims is intriguing as a prospect. He is projected to go as high as the middle of the first round.

He has a great mix of size, speed and production. He is 6-3 and 207 pounds. he ran the 40 in 4.38 seconds at the NFL combine and had a 38.5-inch vertical leap. He had 66 receptions for 1,020 yards and 12 touchdowns for Baylor in 2019.

He might be on the Cardinals’ radar should they decide to trade down in the first round of the draft and he would be a nice fit in terms of size and speed with Hopkins, Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald.
