The Falcons traded Mohamed Sanu to the Patriots for a second-round pick on Tuesday morning. The team’s former No. 2 receiver goes from a 1-6 Atlanta team to an undefeated New England team.
Sanu took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the fans, his teammates and the entire Falcons organization:
After a career-best season in 2018, Sanu had become the team’s fourth receiving option with tight end Austin Hooper emerging as one of the best tight ends in the league.
Sanu signed with the Falcons in 2016 and helped the team reach Super Bowl 51. His numbers went up each of the past two seasons, and at 30, Sanu has plenty of gas left in the tank.
