WR Michael Crabtree likely to play in Week 2 vs. Ravens

The Arizona Cardinals held back veteran receiver Michael Crabtree out of the season opener against the Detroit Lions, making him inactive. That should not be the case in Week 2 when the Cardinals take on his former team, the Baltimore Ravens.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters at his Monday press conference he anticipates that Crabtree will take the field for his Cardinals debut.

He elaborated more in his radio interview on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

“He’s close,” said the Cardinals coach. “We just wanted to make sure he was in top shape before we put him out there, and we thought that another week would be great for him.”

Not having gotten work in training camp or any preseason reps, Kingsbury has said he wanted Crabtree to get in shape and have time to learn the offense.

The veteran receiver will certainly want to get on the field to face Baltimore, who released him in the offseason one year into the three-year contract he signed in 2018.
