WR Marquise Brown cleared to practice after passing physical

Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Marquise Brown has been cleared to practice after passing his physical, the team announced via Twitter today.

Brown, the 25th overall selection in this year’s draft, has yet to practice as a member of the Ravens. The rookie receiver was sidelined throughout spring workouts while recovering from a January surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury in his left foot, and entered training camp on the non-football injury list.

While he wasn’t cleared for practice during that time, Brown nonetheless got some work in by participating in running and catching drills on the sidelines. ESPN’s Jamison Hensley reports that Brown “looked strong” while running during the opening days of the team’s training camp, but that Baltimore elected to exercise caution with him after he reported soreness in his foot.

Assuming Brown takes to the field with the team on Wednesday, he may be ready to suit up for the Ravens’ first preseason game, an Aug. 8 home date with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
