WR Jordy Nelson visiting Seahawks, several other teams interested

The market appears to be strong for Jordy Nelson, although the Green Bay Packers are currently not one of the teams interested in the 33-year-old receiver.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Nelson will visit the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, and he has received interest from the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders, who just released him last week.

The Seahawks, who are run by former Packers personnel executive John Schneider, were one of the teams pursuing Nelson before he signed with the Raiders last year.

The Packers officially cut Nelson last March. He went on to catch 63 passes for 739 yards and three touchdowns with the Raiders.

Nelson, who turns 34 in May, caught 550 passes for 7,848 yards and 69 touchdowns over nine seasons with the Packers. He’s third in team history in catches, fifth in receiving yards and second in receiving touchdowns.

The Raiders cutting Nelson last week led some to speculate Nelson could return to Green Bay for one last hurrah with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, one of his closest friends. It doesn’t appear as if GM Brian Gutekunst and the Packers are interested in a reunion, at least not at this stage in the process.
