WR John Brown says his goodbyes and thanks to Ravens in Twitter message

Though wide receiver John Brown’s time as a Baltimore Raven was short, Brown’s single season with the organization clearly left an indelible mark on the veteran receiver.

Brown took to Twitter on Wednesday to express his gratitude to the team after they brought him aboard in 2018 on a one-year, $5 million “prove it” deal.

“Anybody that sign free agent or get drafted will love being a raven because they are all about family and their players (sic),” Brown tweeted. “I will miss this a lot.”

Back in January, Brown — the team leader in both receiving yards (715) and touchdowns (5) last year — expressed his desire to re-sign with the Ravens and return to Baltimore for the 2019 season.

“I’d just rather have fun and be in a happy place,” Brown said, via Edward Lee of The Baltimore Sun. “This is a place I’m happy with. As long as it’s good enough money to take care of my family, I’d love to be back.”

However, things didn’t materialize that way for the five-year NFL veteran. Instead, Brown will suit up for the Buffalo Bills in 2019 after inking a 3-year, $27 million deal with the team in free agency.
