WR J.J. Nelson signs with Raiders

Another Arizona Cardinals free agent has found a new team. The latest is receiver J.J. Nelson, who played four seasons with Arizona after being drafted in the fifth round out of UAB.

He joins the Oakland Raiders, the team announced.

He is now part of a completely remade Raiders receiving corps that includes Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams.

Nelson is known for his speed, as he was the fastest player in the combine when he came out of college, running the 40 in 4.28 seconds.

A dynamic return specialist in college, he made several big plays for Arizona as a receiver. He has 81 career receptions with an average of 17.8 yards per catch and 10 touchdowns. However, he only had seven receptions in 2018 for 64 yards and was a healthy inactive the final two weeks of the season, signaling his departure.

Nelson joins Markus Golden, Deone Bucannon, Antoine Bethea, Oday Aboushi and Mike Iupati in finding new teams in free agency.
