WR A.J. Green, TE Demetrius Harris land on COVID list after positive test for virus

The Arizona Cardinals have had to deal with a number of players landing on the reserve/COVI\D-19 list this season. They played a game on the road against the Cleveland Browns without three players and without head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

They must whether the loss of another pair of players, this time on offense.

On Wednesday, the Cardinals placed wide receiver A.J. Green and tight end Demetrius Harris on the COVID list, according to the NFL transactions report. All six players around the league who were placed on the list were because of a positive test for COVID-19.

The positive tests make it unlikely that either will be able to play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. To be reinstated, they must have two consecutive negative tests separated by at least 24 hours and have no symptoms. If they develop symptoms, they must reach 48 hours past having no symptoms and have the negative tests. With the game coming this Sunday, it isn’t likely that will happen.

With Green out, it could mean some significant playing time for Andy Isabella, who has yet to play an offensive snap this year. At tight end, it moves Darrell Daniels up to the No. 2 position and creates a void at TE3, as Ross Travis, previously on the practice squad, was released Tuesday.
