WR A.J. Brown: Titans ‘want more’ in 2020

The Tennessee Titans came up just short of the ultimate goal on the 2019 season.

Only one game stood between the team and an appearance in Super Bowl LIV, but the Titans fell, 35-24 to a Kansas City Chiefs team they had beaten back in November.

There’s a good deal of time left before the Titans get rolling in the 2020 NFL season, but wide receiver A.J. Brown is already looking ahead after his rookie season.

“I fell short of my goals, but that’s the good thing about it,” Brown said in a report by the team’s Jim Wyatt. “I am blessed to be able to come back next year and try again and set higher goals. I am going to set higher goals and go to work.

“And as a team, we want more.”

Obviously the latest loss is a difficult one for players like Brown to get over, and as quarterback Ryan Tannehill put it, many are probably still “in shock” as the reality of the offseason continues to set in.

But it’s hard to ignore how much the Ole Miss product accomplished in just his first season out of college.

He led all rookies with a total of 1,051 receiving yards on the year, posting 52 receptions and eight touchdowns, along with 60 rushing yards and a score.

He had 605 receiving yards over the final six-game stretch, leading the NFL.

Brown had set a goal of 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns, meaning he fell short of his own personal expectations by exactly 449 yards and six scores.
