WPL: Delhi Capitals win toss, opt to to field against Gujarat Giants

NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and decided to field against Gujarat Giants in their Women's Premier League (WPL) match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Delhi made just one change in the side, bringing in Poonam Yadav in place of Tara Norris.

Gujarat made two changes, bringing in Laura Wolvaardt and Ashwani Kumari in place of Meghana and Annabel. Their skipper Sneh Rana said Laura and Sophia Dunkley will open the batting.

"We are gonna have a bowl tonight. A new wicket, will see how it plays. Will look to bowl well and chase it down. It’s a new day today, we played well that night, they have some world class players. Poonam Yadav comes in for Tara Norris, we feel that it will suit this matchup," Lanning said after winning the toss.

"We have two changes, Laura and Ashwani come in place of Meghana and Annabel. Laura and Dunkley will be opening for us. In the last few matches, we have improved in our bowling and fielding. We also have had a few good partnerships with the bat, so we are improving," Rana said at the toss.
