'Wow!' - Tottenham fans agree over what Mo Salah did to Danny Rose in five-star Liverpool win

Tottenham supporters have been reacting to former defender Danny Rose's nightmare performance against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds ran riot at Vicarage Road in Claudio Ranieri's first match in charge of Watford, with the visitors netting five without reply in the Premier League's early kick-off.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and a hat-trick from Roberto Firmino was enough for Liverpool, who were irresistible at times.

Rose, who left Spurs on a free transfer over the summer after over a decade in north London, was making his fifth appearance of the Premier League season for Watford, but it was one to forget for the English left-back.

The 31-year-old had one of the trickiest challenges in world football right now - to mark Salah. The Liverpool star caused havoc down the right-hand side all afternoon-long and Rose was the unfortunate recipient of that.

Rose was barged to the floor by Salah, who then set up Mane with a fantastic through ball early into the game, with the Senegal international placing the ball into the back of the Watford net.

That kind of summed up Rose's afternoon against the Reds, and Tottenham supporters have all said the same thing about his display.

Rose famously had a conversation with former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho, that was shown on the Amazon Prime documentary: 'All or Nothing', where the left-back had a heated exchange over his lack of game time.

Speaking on Ben Foster's YouTube channel after signing for Watford over the summer transfer window, Rose said this on his relationship with Mourinho: “People who are in football will understand that’s a normal conversation you have with a manager on a day-to-day basis when you aren’t playing.

“To the outside world, with the feedback I got, it looked like I shouldn’t be speaking like that.

“But for every player not playing, if you are not having these conversations with your manager then you don’t have the motivation to play. That’s just how it was. I felt I was harshly treated.

“So, from day one in pre-season, I had a meeting with Mourinho and Daniel Levy. They said ‘I wasn’t needed anymore’. I said ‘I respect your decision’. And I try to make the best of a very bad situation.”
