'Wow, that's Bristol Rovers' - Skipper's glowing tribute to the mass hoards of traveling Gas fans

Tom Lockyer says Bristol Rovers' brilliant support against Coventry City epitomises what the club is about.

Over 2,000 Gas supporters packed the away end at the Ricoh Arena and made themselves heard throughout.

After the goalless draw, Rovers captain Lockyer praised the traveling support and said it inspired the team to keep their defensive resolve.

He said: "We came here and we were full of confidence and the quality was lacking but I have to say to the fans, what fantastic support.

"It was unbelievable, I can't remember the last support we had like that, it was fantastic.

"We turned up before the game and I saw the amount of numbers, and I just said to the lads 'Wow, that's Bristol Rovers'.

"Fair play to them, they were with us throughout - we had to dig deep at times but they were there singing, getting right behind us.

"Thank you for your support today."

'It was best I got myself away' - The gruesome reason Bristol Rovers' Tom Lockyer missed out on making an appearance for Wales

Pre-match, Rovers' players threw their Kick It Out tops into the crowd, and Lockyer said this was a way to get the fans going.

He said: "That's something we did to try and get them going to start with.

"We did it last week, so it's one of those things to try and get them going before the game.

"I don't know if it worked or not but they were right behind us."
