‘Wounded’ - Troy Deeney makes bold Liverpool claim amid Premier League suspension

On their crusading campaign to the top of the Premier League table, out of 29 games played, Liverpool have won a phenomenal 27 times.

This incredible feat. has seen them race into a 25-point lead ahead of Manchester City, and leaves the just two victories from the title promise land.

The only team able to inflict the misery of defeat upon Jurgen Klopp's team's shoulders have been Watford.

Nigel Pearson's relegation battlers produced a scintillating display last month to win 3-0.

And the Hornets' captain Troy Deeney, who scored and assisted against the Reds at Vicarage Road, has made a strong claim about how the season should end.

On Thursday, it was announced by the Premier League, EFL and FA that elite level football in England was set to be further suspended until April 30 in response to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the nation.

In response to this latest ruling, Deeney insisted the season must be finished before the 2020/21 campaign begins.

He told the BBC: “I don’t know when or how but we’ve got to finish it, just to get a fair outcome.

“If you ‘null and void’ it, Liverpool are wounded.

“Everyone wants to see them win it now, they’ve been great."
