He was offered a fresh deal at Wanderers earlier this season, but that was declined, and he is poised to be out of contract next summer as things stand.
Bolton boss Ian Evatt said: "I don’t think we’ve had any further dialogue with Dennis or his agent. As I said, we made him an offer.
"That offer was politely declined so for now we’ll play it by ear and see how things develop."
Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to give their view that there has been no further movement in potentially extending Politic's stay at the University of Bolton Stadium.
And the latest update has drawn a mixed response it seeems from fans reacting on the social media platform.

Jamie Adams-Mercer wrote: "The lad has done well when given a chance with 6 goal contributions in 8 games and is still only 21. I think letting him walk is something Evatt will live to regret especially when you consider the players ahead of him right now at Bwfc.
"I’m not suprised him and his agent are holding out as players with genuine potential usually don’t want to commit long term to a club."
