Would you return to 051 club if it reopens?

We want to hear your thoughts after the chances of a Club 051 comeback got a little more real.

Club 051 dominated Liverpool's nightlight throughout the 90s, leaving an everlasting mark on the city - quite literally, with the building still standing despite its 'troubled' existence since the club closed in 2005.

However, the club and buildings fortunes could now be on the up, as a former resident DJ seeks to bring the club "back to life" after years of disrepair. DJ Lee Butler, once winner of the ECHO's DJ of the Year, has launched plans to renovate the club back to its former glory.

In a video taken from inside the old club posted to Twitter, Lee said he hopes "the dream becomes a reality." He said: "Over the past few days I've been sharing pictures and footage of 051 nightclub and as you can see it's in terrible condition. It's upsetting to see one of Liverpool's last standing real, iconic nightclubs wasting away."

Would you return to the club if it reopened? What do you make of Lee's plans? We want to know what you think and hear your memories of the 051 nighclub. Tell us in the comments.

He added: "So my dream is to get the place in shape for some big nights but also to get it in shape for other events too. Live music, local band nights, comedy nights, tribute nights, sportsman dinners, boxing shows."

Since the announcement hundreds have remembered the nightclub, with many saying it would be "amazing" to have it open once more. Commenting on Facebook, John Parry said: "I used to love going there in the 90's. Saturday nights were brilliant"

Ashley Ryan said: "Had my first night out at 15 in here and went every single Friday absolutely loved it in there. [I] am 37 now would love it to open again

Michelle Smith said: "If anyone can do it Lee can. Believe and you will achieve. Can't wait and got my name down for the priority tickets. I've fell up and down them stairs many a time back in the day. Ohhh the memories."

Leanne Aldridge said: "Best club ever back in the day would be amazing to open up again. Good luck Lee."
