'Would be class' - Spurs fans in agreement after Jesse Lingard linked with move

Jesse Lingard has been approached by Tottenham Hotspur over a potential move in the summer.

Antonio Conte's side are looking to bring the 29-year-old to north London in the summer when his contract at Manchester United, as reported by Football.London.

Lingard came on as a substitute in a rare appearance under interim manager Ralf Rangnick as they booked a FA Cup fourth-round tie with Middlesbrough after seeing off Aston Villa.

David Moyes has also been interested in bringing the attacker back to the London Stadium after he helped West Ham to European qualification during his six-month stint in the second half of the season.

He could be used as a potential replacement for Steven Bergwijn who has been subject to interest from Ajax, who is said to have had a £15m bid for the Dutchman rejected.

The addition of the United academy graduate would produce versatility across the front three and attacking areas as well as adding to their home-grown numbers.

The report was met with positivity from the Spurs fans who would be more than happy to bring in the FA Cup winner into their ranks.

From a United perspective, Lingard is just one of a whole host of players looking to leave Old Trafford.

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson was left out of the matchday squad for Monday's win due to his insistence on getting a temporary move to guarantee playing time.
