'Would be amazing' - Arsenal fans have transfer demand for Domenico Berardi as 'contact made'

Arsenal and Manchester United have both made enquiries over the signing of Italy and Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi, according to reports.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the 26-year-old is attracting interest from the Premier League duo after starring in Italy's 3-0 win against Turkey on Friday evening.

Berardi was one of Roberto Mancini's star players in the comfortable victory to kick off the Euro 2020 tournament.

The Italian wide man also enjoyed a fine season for Sassuolo, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists in 30 Serie A appearances, helping his side cement an eighth-placed finish in the top-flight.

Now, reports coming out of his homeland are suggesting that the Gunners and Man United have made 'the most significant enquiries' for Berardi.

During Italy's 3-0 win, where Berardi shone, Arsenal fans were already making their feelings known via Twitter about their club making a move for the talented winger.

Arsenal are reportedly chasing a winger this summer, with the likes of Raheem Sterling already being linked with a move to north London.

It looks like Mikel Arteta and Edu may have identified an alternative to the England winger, with Berardi the latest name to be involved in the transfer rumours.

Man United are reportedly desperate to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, but reports from Italy suggest that Berardi is an alternative to the Borussia Dortmund attacker.

football.london understands that Arsenal are set for a massive squad overhaul this summer, with Arteta desperate for his side to improve significantly from what we saw last season.

The Gunners finished eighth in the Premier League, meaning there is no European football for the club next season, which could make transfer business a bit more tricky.

However, the club are looking to sign at least five players - all in different positions - a source has told football.london .
