Newcastle United are edging closer to finally replacing Steve Bruce as manager.
Ever since the takeover of the club was completed a few weeks ago, almost every manager in Europe has been linked with the top job at St James’ Park.
It now looks as though the new ownership group are close to agreeing a deal for Bruce’s successor, with Unai Emery emerging as the favourite.
A £6m compensation package would be paid to the Spaniard’s current club, Villarreal.
Eddie Howe is also said to still be in contention, but Emery is the firm favourite.
