'Worth every penny'- Tottenham fans in agreement after latest Danny Ings developments

Tottenham have learned the price required to prise striker Danny Ings out of fellow Premier League club this summer, as Nuno Espirito-Santo looks for a Harry Kane partner ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

Ings, 28, has one year left on his current Saints contract, as long-term admirers Spurs are looking to pounce and secure the signature of the English forward this summer.

The sticking point so far in negotiations has been the fee required to complete the deal, but the south coast side have came out to clarify what they are looking for if they were to let Ings go this summer.

It is understood that £25million is required for this deal to be unlocked.

This is according to The Athletic, who state that the Saints would risk losing the ex-Liverpool striker next season for free if they weren't to cash in.

The 28-year-old is reportedly not keen on signing a new contract extension, giving the north London club hope that a deal can be done either this summer or next year when Ings becomes a free agent

Tottenham fans react on social media to Danny Ings' rumoured price tag (Twitter)

Here's how a select number of Spurs fans reacted on Twitter to the latest news in the Ings transfer saga.

@Jonno1975 said: "Worth every penny for me. Him and/or kane would be ideal."

@AcornerTurning stated: "18 months left doesn't he, not sure they will get much more than 25."

@jb181076 tweeted: "Really only 25...bargain. Vesstargaard as well for 50M total???"

@N17Dylan pointed out: "Take 20 or we get him for free next summer."

@pjdivers ordered: "Pay it!! We got a mega deal [Pierre-Emile Højbjerg] on Last summer from them."

While, @NLIW2 doesn't believe he's worth the quoted fee: "Ings is worth 15 mil at most."

The 28-year-old had a torrid time when playing on Merseyside for Liverpool.

A spell which was ravaged by injury misfortune.

Since moving on from the Anfield club, Ings has rediscovered the form and swagger from his Burnley spell and has replicated it upfront in Ralph Hasenhüttl's dynamic Southampton outfit.

He is now one of their most important players, alongside midfielder James Ward-Prowse and defender Jannik Vestergaard.

Last season, Ings contributed a total of 17 goal contributions in 33 games in all competitions for the Saints.

14 goals and three assists are the stats from the last campaign which has inadvertently reignited the interest of Tottenham.
