'Worth a gamble' - Nottingham Forest fans rate January transfer link with Premier League striker

Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to the rumour that is a target for the January transfer window.

Reports have claimed that the Reds are interested in signing the Crystal Palace frontman on loan in the New Year, with Premier League side Watford also said to be keen on his services.

The 26-year-old has struggled for regular minutes at Selhurst Park, featuring just three times this season under manager Roy Hodgson.

His last goal came in a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last season, which was his first strike since a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in November 2016.

Forest fans took to social media to give their thoughts on the Reds potentially bringing Wickham to the City Ground in the New Year. Here is a selection of what they had to say.

John Haddow: “Worth a gamble, good striker in this Division.”

Will Tooley: “Would definitely take that.”

Liam Hunt: “Steady striker but need more of a central forward he tends to drift to the wings a lot.”

Damien Grattan : “Better than Mir thats for sure.”

Red5: “Depends how match sharp he is. He's a good target/holding man when fully fit so not a bad option to have. If he comes because he needs sharpness, it wont do either club any favours. Unless Grab gets injured he'll only get ten mins here and there...”

MHudson_Blake: “He's not a striker. He's a forward, as his goalscoring record shows. .”

Lee Watson: “Decent signing if we were fighting relegation.”
