'Desperation' - Nottingham Forest fans give transfer verdict after deadline day double deal

Nottingham Forest fans have been making their feelings known about the summer transfer window as a whole after the signings of Braian Ojeda and Mohamed Drager were confirmed.

The pair were announced together by the club at 8pm and were the first signings of the final day of the summer transfer window.

However, the news has been somewhat overshadowed on transfer deadline day after it emerged that Josh Maja would not be signing for the Reds.

With less than an hour left before the window closes for another four months, Forest have still yet to sign another striker, with a move for West Ham United forward Xande Silva yet to be sealed.

This is the area of the pitch that fans seem to be most keen for reinforcement to arrive in, and with good reason as Forest go into the international break as the joint second-lowest scorers in the Championship.

Many fans have been sharing their transfer verdicts on our Nottingham Forest News Facebook page, and here is a selection of what is being said over there...

Philip Tomlinson: Just wondering who is driving the acquisitions. Are the they affects CH wanted. I hope they can play but I’m underwhelmed. We have unloaded lots of dead wood which needed to be done. Just hope we haven’t replaced like for like.

@G_JC_2: Think Forest expected to sell a player to fund some signings and it hasn’t materialised. Got to remember in the last 2 season we’ve chucked a lot of money about. It wasn’t that long ago we were in an embargo for breaching FFP

Hampton Wallace: Terrible. This is our worst transfer window ever. We have lost 17 players from a squad that struggled last season and replaced them with utter dross. We are going down

Christopher Hibbert: I was actually excited at the start of the window. The names going around were the young players in League 1 and 2 who looked super promising. But oh no, back to Bachirou, Gonçalves type of signings again

Mark Andrew Roberts: These moves just stink of last minute desperation. Paying over the odds in wages to give these players some kind of glorified trial for Olympiacos.

Where’s the proven Championship level striker to get us the goals we need, to dig out of another relegation dogfight? A whole summer to sort that out. Yet not one credible example of trying to sign one. Just releasing players, and signing risky unknown players for positions which already have competition for them.

John Michael White: The numbers spoken about Maja always looked like a heck of a lot of money to spend on a guy who hasn't had a single consistent goalscoring season in his career. Not one. It would have been a gamble, and I'd rather not be spending millions on gambles.

@ForestJonny1865: I know it’s all gloom and doom on the timeline but, so far, Joe and Brennan still on Trentside…that’s got to be a massive positive…I prefer keeping either one to getting Maja
