'Worst roundabouts in Glasgow' tweet goes viral as locals chip in with opinions

A tweet asking people to give their opinion on what the worst roundabouts in Glasgow are has gone viral - with folk in the city climbing over themselves to put forward their nominations.

The question was posed last night by Go Radio's Joseph McGuire, who got the ball rolling by nominating the roundabout at "Robroyston Asda" as the worst he'd encountered in the city.

Since then the tweet has been liked over 1,000 times and had over 100 responses from Glaswegian drivers, illustrating that not only are there strong opinions out there but that there are also plenty of roundabouts that seem to grind our gears.

One person who was in agreement with the Robroyston choice wrote: "Every time I get round that Robroyston one without dying it's a genuine surprise to me", while another person pointed to a roundabout nearby, tweeting: "This double roundabout monstrosity just a mile away from there", in reference to the one on Auchinairn Road at the junction with Standburn Road and Hillhead Road.

Other nominations have included the "double roundabout at junction of Brownside Road and Langlea Road in Cambuslang", the one at "the top of Fifty Pitches Road Cardonald Park" and the one at "Thornwood", while another wrote: "Failed my driving test twice up at the one at Swinton so I have a deep personal hated for that wan".

However, it seemed that plenty were unanimous in their hatred towards one specific 'deathtrap' - namely the roundabout at Silverburn Shopping Centre.

Responses citing that included: "That big one at Silverburn", "Definitely Pollok one at Silverburn", "That Pollok roundabout 100%, it’s a free for all, and the condition of the road resembles being on a safari" and "Peat Road at Silverburn, worst in the world".
