The worst online retailers in the UK have been revealed, and the answers probably won’t surprise you.
Homebase.co.uk has been rated the worst by the latest Which? annual online shops survey after shoppers complained the retailer ignored complaints and sells products which were actually out of stock.
Which? asked more than 7,500 members to rate the most popular online shops based on their experiences in the last six months, reports Birmingham Live.
They were asked to rate websites based on experience of buying particular items while considering factors such as value for money, product range, ease of ordering, delivery and product quality.
Tied for the top spot was LizEarle.com, RicherSounds.com and WexPhotoVideo.com, which were said to offer top service, great value for money and an extensive range of items.
Shoppers gave the worst rated, Homebase.co.uk, just two stars for range of products and two stars for value of money.
Mike Ashley’s House of Fraser and SportsDirect.com were among the worst with Homebase.co.cuk, DIY.com (B&Q) and WHSmith.
House of Fraser received mixed feedback, with one customer complaining that the “website is awful” while others complained about delivery costs.
One WHSmith customer said: “I ordered something only to be told three months later that it was out of stock.”
Harry Rose, editor of Which? magazine, said: “We continue to see the same brands performing poorly in our survey, with some of the bigger retailers offering disappointing levels of service and inferior websites which often seem to run out of stock.
“Our research shows that if you value a genuinely enjoyable shopping experience, then you might be better off with a smaller brand that can offer a more personalised service.”
