'Worst nightmare' - Spurs fans send Daniel Levy a message over Jose Mourinho reports

Tottenham Hotspur are on the look out for a new manager.

The club announced on Tuesday night that after five and a half years with the club, Mauricio Pochettino has left his position at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs have had a difficult start to the season, and are currently sitting in 14th place in the Premier League table, 11 points behind the top four positions.

"The Club can today announce that Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Antoni Jimenez have been relieved of their duties," read a statement on the club website.

"Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: "We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste.

“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.

“It falls to the Board to make the difficult decisions - this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff - but we do so in the Club's best interests..."

"We have a talented squad. We need to re-energise and look to deliver a positive season for our supporters.

Mauricio Pochettino sacked as manager of Spurs

"We shall provide an update on new coaching staff in due course."

The club's task is now to appoint a manager in order to try and close the gaps on the Champions League places.

One name that has already been mentioned is former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, with football.london understanding that the manager would be interested in the role should it be offered to him.

Spurs fans have taken to social media to give their thoughts on the rumour.

Although there is some more keen on the move
