A North Dublin walk-in testing centre has returned the highest positivity rate of all of the new centres that opened last week.
The Finglas walk-in centre at Colaiste Eoin on Cappagh Road recorded a positivity rate of 5.2%, the highest figure of all of the recently opened centres.
The centre was also well above the country's average positivity rate of 3.2% across the same week according to the Irish Times.
The "no appointment necessary" clinics opened last week and replaced the five pop up walk-in test centres that launched last week.
The HSE opened asymptomatic walk-in centres in areas where the number of positive cases is particularly high to understand how and why the virus is spreading quicker in certain areas.
The four clinics in Dublin and Kildare will be at:
City of Dublin Education and Training Board, Coláiste Eoin, Cappagh Road, Dublin 11, D11 AY65 (opening Thursday)
Quay Street Car Park, Quay Street, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, K32KD57 (opening Thursday)
Crumlin GAA, Club House, Lorcan O’ Toole Park, Park Crescent, Crumlin, D12 NX33 (opening Friday)
Naas Racecourse, Tipper Road, Tipper West, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 ED00 (opening Friday)
The testing centres will be open from 11am to 7pm.
You can use this free, walk-in COVID-19 testing service if you:
· are aged 16 years and over
· do not have symptoms of COVID-19 but would like to be tested
· live within 5k of the walk-in testing centre
· have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last six months
