Worried Scottish swimmers took out huge insurance policy against the Loch Ness Monster

Swimmers in Scotland have been taking out insurance for an attack by the Loch Ness Monster, it has been revealed.

A list of some of the strangest insurance policies has shown that multiple people over the years have taken legal protection against Nessie, despite the long standing myth that surrounds her existence.

According to research by Quotezone.co.uk, in 2005 a group of swimmers were insured for over £1million against a bite from the sea creature whilst they were in the Loch Ness waters.

But it doesn't stop there, a few years later even a cruise ship company that takes tourists to the eerie site took out insurance cover that would allow for up to $1.5 million of damage to their boats if Nessie decided to go on a rampage.

However, perhaps these insurance policies weren't too ridiculous at all, as in recent weeks Scotland's national treasure has been 'sighted' on more than one occasion.

On June 3, an American woman, Kalyn Wangle, spotted Nessie via the Urquhart Bay webcam, and watched the monster bob in and out of the water for around ten minutes.

Posting about the footage, Kalynn said: “Why is this sighting super epic you ask? Well, this object surfaces for more than seven minutes.

The monster was caught on camera by a local walker (Steve Challice)

“It moves closer to the shore, it constantly changes shape and splashes about and is not a boat as it just shows up in the middle of the loch. It also appears to be quite large.

“This second sighting clearly shows a black object moving across the Loch from right to left.

These captured images were the fifth sighting so far in 2020, after other unbelievably clear images were taken last September by a local walker, which also sparked a huge debate over the existence of the elusive creature.
