Worried residents speak out after attempted murder investigation launched in Nottingham

Residents have spoken out after a man suffered stab wounds to his back and face in a stabbing.

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after officers were called to the incident in Alfreton Road, Nottingham, 10.05pm on Thursday, November 19.

A 24-year-old man had been taken to the Queen's Medical Centre with serious injuries

Amy Bean, who moved from Radford to Arnold two years ago, and was thinking about moving back, added: "It makes me not want to come back.

"I lived here for eight years before. It is a great community up here.

"But this is worrying. It is very sad to see."

Forensics officers were spotted at the scene on Friday morning and a cordon had been set up in the area.

Sharon Kelly, 62, who has lived in the area all her life, told Nottinghamshire Live: "It is horrible. It makes you feel sick.

"[The attack] was not even that late either. I heard about it on Facebook and then I saw the cordon.

"It is just not safe around here."

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them urgently.

Lily Fox, 20, a student at Nottingham Trent University who lives nearby, said: "As a student, it is a little unnerving.

"Student housing can be in dodgy areas and most of the time that can actually be unfounded, but stuff like this reaffirms it.

"I walk down this road every day and at night in the dark. There are bad people everywhere."

Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow of Nottinghamshire police, said: "We have been working on this case through the night and are actively seeking two suspects.

"We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious or who might have any information that could help, no matter how small, to get in touch with us.

"Our thorough enquiries continue today and a scene is in place as we work to bring those behind the attack to justice."
