Worried Antwerp boss shares Rangers fear as he reveals 7 players are set to miss Europa League crunch

Fearful Royal Antwerp boss Franky Vercauteren concedes his team are down to the bare bones ahead of their Europa League showdown with Rangers, with five players definitely out and a further two doubtful.

Steven Gerrard 's side are the odds-on favourites to progress into the Last 16 of the competition after a near-flawless run so far.

They face an Antwerp side away from who who have improved hugely under Vercauteren and sit second in the Belgian top flight.

But they have been ravaged  injury and suspension with key man Lamkel Ze, who has scored four goals in their last six games, suspended for the first leg because of a sending off playing in Europa last season.

Now Vercauteren has revealed he won't be able to count on four injured players for the match tomorrow - Faris Haroun and Dieumerci Mbokani are on their way back, but won't make this week and Alexis De Sart and Jean Butez are out for both legs.

And they also have doubts over Birger Verstraete and Dylan Batubinsika

He said: "We have an absolute maximum of 18 first team players available for the match against Rangers.

"Haroun and Mbokani are on the recovery path, but they still haven't trained and are out, just like De Sart and Butez.

"We are hoping Verstraete and Batubinsika will be ready to play. Their situation is being closely monitored every day."
