It's World Book Day today - the one day of the year when reading under your desk is actively encouraged - by us, anyway.
If you can't get your hands on a novel, come and celebrate online with us: pit your wits against our fiendishly tricky quiz on world literature; enter our competition to win a copy of New Beginnings, Bloomsbury's book of previously unpublished first chapters from 16 acclaimed authors (Margaret Atwood, Vikram Seth, Tracy Chevalier and Alexander McCall Smith among them), the proceeds of which will go to tsunami charities; and post your questions for the children's laureate, Michael Morpurgo, who will be live online at 4pm this afternoon.
