World Snooker Championship draw 2021: Mark Allen to face Lyu Haotian in first round

The draw for the 2021 World Snooker Championship was made on Thursday.

The opening round sees the top 16 players paired with 16 qualifiers.

Antrim's Mark Allen will face Lyu Haotian from China on April 20.

Allen is ranked 13th for the tournament which is taking place at The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

Reigning champion Ronnie O’Sullivan will take on Crucible first-timer Mark Joyce in his opening game, while World number one Judd Trump faces Liam Highfield.

One of the ties of the round sees Ding Junhui face 2015 World champion Stuart Bingham.

The action gets underway on Saturday with the tournament lasting 17 days.
