The World’s Famous Grotto returns to Liverpool’s St John’s Shopping Centre this weekend.
The grotto, which celebrates 140 years this Christmas , opens its doors on Saturday, November 16.
For more than a century families visited the iconic grotto in Lewis’ and Rapid, before making the move to St John’s in 2017, and now it has been named the world's oldest grotto in operation by the Guinness World Records.
The grotto will take visitors on a journey through the ages, recreating some of its most magical and popular displays from years gone by.
The festive displays include Fairytale from 1879, Peter Pan from 1935 and Magical Winter Wonderland from 1982, 1992 and 2005.

Along with meeting Santa, the grotto experience includes a special gift for each child and a story book called The Day I Met Santa.
Visitors will have the chance to take a photograph with Santa and even purchase a special keepsake such as personalised baubles and frames from the gift shop.

Guy Fennell, from The World’s Famous Grotto said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Santa Claus home to Liverpool once again!
“It’s our 140th anniversary year, so we really wanted to make this year extra special by recreating some of our most magical displays since we first opened all those years ago.
“Children and adults will love being transported through the ages as our displays of fairies, princesses, toys, elves and polar bears well and truly bring Christmas to life.

“We’re really looking forward to meeting everyone this Christmas and sharing plenty of festive spirit.”
To celebrate the launch of the grotto, Santa will be touring Liverpool on November 16 - find out where you can .
