World's most modified man shows what he looked like before tattoos and piercings

A “devil” with more than 500 body modifications, including an eye watering 278 piercings on his genitals, has revealed what he looked like before his transformation.

Rolf Buchholz, 62, holds the Guinness World Record for his 516 changes to his body, including the horns implanted to his forehead and his tongue sliced in two.

But in new pictures it shows the German was not always the black-eyed “devil” with tattoos covering 90% of his body people now know him as, the Daily Star reports.

In one image shared by the computer scientist, he is seen stepping out of the sea without a single visible piercing on his body.

In another he is seen holding the reins of a horse in large spectacles and longer hair.

Friends of the Dortmund resident who knew him before his dates with a tattooist's needle would struggle to recognise him today.

He previously said: “A lot of people think I'm the devil, but I don't believe I am.”

Rolf is the current proud owner of two world titles- most piercings (male) and most body modifications (male).

He told them: “"I started with the body modifications because I liked them.

"They were fun, so I started doing more and more.

"One day, I saw I could break the record because I met other record holders and realised I had more piercings than them."

"I think my most famous body modifications are my horn implants. They are really big.

“"Other than that I have a lot of implants, as you can see, on the arms and on the back of my hand. I also have a star under my chest.

“One day, I saw that I was a Guinness World Records title holder. It was great to get the record, because it’s something special and I’m very proud of it.

“I didn’t do it for the record. I got the record at the end, yes, but I did the modifications for me.

"I like the modification, I find it good, so I did it."

Another of Rolf’s passions is body suspension, where hooks are added through the skin to hold him up.

He claims he feels “no pain” when taking part in the hobby.

Although he is proud of his look it does sometimes lead to issues with authorities.

In 2014 he was denied entry to the United Arab Emirates because of his implants and was ordered to return to Germany as a result of his modifications.
