The world's heaviest aircraft is to touch down in Prestwick tomorrow.
Aircraft enthusiasts are set for a treat when the Antonov An-225 Mriya stops off in South Ayrshire on its way to France.
The giant strategic airlift cargo plane - powered by six turbofan engines - is flying in for a brief visit on Sunday.
It boasts a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes and was originally designed to carry the Russian space shuttle by the Antonov Design Bureau in the Ukrainian SSR within the Soviet Union during the 1980s.
She is due to fly into Prestwick from Bangor in the USA at 2.30pm before departing at 4.30pm for Châteauroux-Centre Airport in France.
The special arrival is expected to draw a large crowd around the airport's perimeter and those attending are reminded to park responsibly and not block access gates to the airfield or stop on private land.
