World's first sky pool floating 115ft over London set to open next summer

The world's first sky pool - which will 'float' 115ft in the air is set to be opening in the UK next summer.

Breathtaking images show what the pool, which is currently undergoing final testing in Colorado, will look like once completed.

The pool will be three metres deep and 25 metres in length, with the capacity to hold nearly 400 tonnes of water.

Joining two apartment blocks together in Vauxhall, south London, the pool will allow users to swim between the two buildings, as though they are 'floating on air' according to developers.

Brian Eckersley, the man behind the pool's engineering said: "Once you swim off, you can look right down. It will be like flying."

Prices of the 2,000 apartments in the Embassy Gardens development will range from £600,000 to £5million for the penthouse suite.

Alongside the Sky Pool, residents will also have a number of other amenities available to them, including a gym and spa, and a cinema that can be hired out for private parties.

Exclusive access to all the facilities is granted to residents and guests.

Developers Ecoworld Ballymore's CEO Sean Mulryan said: “It was an idea that really stood out and that we thought was quite special.

"We didn’t know if it was possible at the time and five years ago it wouldn’t have been.

“It’s only because of advances in technology that we’re able to do this. Swimming in it will make you feel like you’re floating in air.”
