A cinema in Manchester claiming to be the world’s first dog-friendly venue has a day dedicated to canine-themed films.
The 36-seat mini cinema is part of the Ducie Street Warehouse complex, and offers their ‘Pawpcorn’ viewing every Monday, allowing dogs and their owners to attend screenings of dog-friendly films.
The screenings are played with lower sounds and are better lit in order to take into account dogs’ sensitive hearing and make them as comfortable as possible in order to not overstimulate them.

Tickets cost £5 per person, with pets going free, and upcoming showings include Pixar's Bolt, A Dog’s Purpose, and the live action remake of Disney’s Lady and the Tramp.
The cinema has recently partnered with premium pet supply store Dog Shop Manchester, which opened a few months ago in the Northern Quarter selling dog accessories, toys, healthy treats, and more.
Dog owners can now reserve a specially curated hamper worth £25 from Dog Shop Manchester to be collected upon arrival at Ducie Street Warehouse, which have to be purchased as part of a hotel stay.
The shop prides itself on sourcing independent products from small businesses, and the hamper comprises of two meat treat packs supplied by Hugo & Co, a biscuit pack from Lola’s Little Bakery, a roll of compostable waste disposal bags supplied by Fetch it, one paw cleanser with cloth, and one small soft toy or ball.
The team at Dog Shop have also chosen their favourite dog treats from independent brands to be available at the café counter on Ducie Street’s ground floor, where humans can also purchase coffee and treats from Gooey, before taking them into the cinema to enjoy.

The wider Ducie Street venue, including the aparthotel Native, the restaurant, lounge, and bar, are all dog-friendly, with their Instagram page regularly sharing pictures of their four-legged guests.
Ducie Street Warehouse is located at Ducie Street, M1 2TP. For more information and booking options, visit their website here .
