'World's best midfielder': Manchester United fans hail Fred after first goal of Ralf Rangnick era

Manchester United fans have lauded Fred’s impact after the midfielder grabbed the first goal of the Ralf Rangnick era.

United impressed during the first half against Crystal Palace, but were finding it difficult to find a way through as the time ticked away in the interim boss's first game in charge.

But those fears were put to rest when Fred struck with 13 minutes to go, and the goal certainly had fans purring.

After Mason Greenwood laid the ball off to the midfielder on the edge of the box, he expertly curled the ball in at the far post with his right foot to signal lift-off at Old Trafford.

Not only were fans singing the praises of Fred, a player who has regularly been the subject of criticism for supporters this season, but they were also lauding the impact made by Rangnick in his first game in charge.

The 63-year-old is in place until the end of the season, and there were already signs of his influence on the side after just a couple of days in the job.
