World's best airport revealed and it has its own indoor forest and amusement park

Travelling through an airport isn't always an exciting experience, so the choice of restaurants, bars and terminal entertainment can make a big difference.

But there's one airport that's majorly upped the ante for 2019 - and it's now picked up the accolade of being the World's Best Airport in the 2019 Skytrax awards .

Changi Airport in Singapore has topped the list for the seventh consecutive year, and there's no denying that they pulled out all the stops for 2019.  (You can see the full top 10 below).

In fact, the airport has recently undergone a major makeover costing S$1.7billion (approx £951million), and there's so much on offer that passengers will hope their flights get delayed.

We're talking its own indoor forest, rainbow waterfalls, and even an entire amusement park for families!

Best restaurants in Singapore and the dishes you absolutely need to try

That's because Changi is opening 'Jewel', its brand new expansion that features over 280 shops and restaurants, and even a 'Majestic Rain Vortex' aka a light and sound show that looks like a huge rainbow waterfall.

But that's not all that's planned as part of the new venture which is spread across ten storeys and boasts a total area of 137,000 sq m.

Where families will really want to while away their time is the Canopy Park which offers everything from slides and mazes to sky nets and a huge indoor forest.

Munich Airport's hangars aren't big enough for A380s but they have an unusual solution

Oh, and for those who really want to make the most of their time there, Jewel will even boast its very own 130-room hotel, YOTEL AIR  Singapore Changi Airport, where you can rest up during your travels (we imagine this will be a hit with those on a stopover!).

It's worth noting that while the shops and restaurants have already opened to the public, the Canopy Park won't be opening until mid-2019.

Considering a trip to Singapore anyway, and want to see the airport for yourself?

British Airways and Singapore Airlines offer direct flights to Changi Airport, while Emirates offers flights with a stopover in Dubai.
