Billie Eilish’s documentary, The World’s a Little Blurry, will be released this Friday (26 February).
The two-hour Apple TV show examines Eilish’s career beginnings and rise to fame but also her personal life, which she said concerned her at first.
“I didn’t know what to expect. They were filming for three-ish years, and I don’t really change in front of a camera, so I was very worried,” the 19-year-old told Stephen Colbert in an interview on The Late Show.
“It’s pretty much me. And it’s kind of a huge bummer because I was super annoying then. It’s rough, it’s hard for me to watch.”
The artist said she refused to let anyone else watch it until she had seen it, which took five hours because she and her three closest friends kept pausing the film.
“There was point where I stopped it, screamed, got up and ran around the house,” she said.
However, she said that the documentary was only “a sliver” of her life at the time. She explained that, having grown up watching celebrity documentaries, she disliked the idea of people knowing everything about her.
“I think it’s important for people to know that it’s not all that was going on. There’s a ton that isn’t in there,” she told the late-night host.
The World’s a Little Blurry was directed by RJ Cutler, and will be released on Apple TV+ on Friday 26 February.
