From the Serial podcast to Making a Murderer and the Ted Bundy Tapes on Netflix - in the past few years true crime has jumped off the headlines and into our entertainment schedule. And viewers can't get enough.
Now Glaswegians are being invited to hear from the man that got up close and personal with some of Britain's most chilling killers.
World-renowned criminologist David Wilson will be in town next month for a special event which we think will go down a treat with fans of true crime.
The professor, who grew up in Carluke, has dedicated his life to analysing violent murders.
Aged twenty-nine he became, at that time, the UK's youngest ever prison Governor in charge of a jail and his career since then has seen him sitting across a table with all sorts of killers.
The Facebook page for the event reads: "Some of these men became David's friends; others would still love to kill him.
"My Life with Murderers tells the story of David's journey from idealistic prison governor to expert criminologist and professor. With experience unlike any other, David's story is a fascinating and compelling study of human nature.
"This event provides a unique opportunity to hear David discuss his fascinating career."
The talk is being held at University of Strathclyde on Saturday, December 14 and will also include a question and answer session.
