World record breaker tries out new Belfast City Marathon Fun Run route

Event organisers of the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon caught up with World Record Breaker Emer McKee to give her a sneak preview of the NEW Fun Run route at Stormont Estate.

Belfast girl Emer, who is a member of Willowfield Harriers, previously set a 5K Age Group World Record in April. But she smashed it again by 13 seconds in June at the Lisburn Festival of Running with a time of 16 minutes 27 seconds. On Sunday 3 rd October, Emer and her family will take on the challenge of the Fun Run with the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon.

The new Fun Run route is approximately 2.5 miles, starting and finishing on Prince of Wales Avenue whilst including the beautiful woodland trails at Stormont Estate. This event attracts a range of age groups including those who wish to start their running journey or improve their fitness.

So, why not join Emer on Sunday 3 rd October to run the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon Fun Run? Entries are available at www.belfastcitymarathon.com. Final entry deadline is 27 th August but be quick to avoid disappointment as entries are LIMITED!
