The All Thailand Golf Tour will be offering world ranking points, starting next year.
The Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) tweeted through its Twitter account: "OWGR welcomes @allThailandGolf, @PGTITOUR&Japan Abena TV Tour from 2019".
In its statement, the OWGR said that the inclusion of the three tours was approved during a meeting at the 147th British Open.
"It will be introduced to the OWGR at a minimum level of five first place points for the tournament that are played over 72 holes," it said.
"Inclusion for all three Tours is effective OWGR week 1 -- week ending January 6th, 2019."
Jakrapong Thongyai, commissioner of the All Thailand Golf Tour, felt honoured and grateful that the 20-year-old tour has earned recognition.
"I want to thank the OWGR for its approval and the recognition of our hard work," he said. "Also, I would like to thank all the players and everyone involved in strengthening the tour since its establishment."
Meanwhile, Thanyakorn Khrongpha fired a third round of 64 to lead by six shots at the three-miillion-baht Singha All Thailand Championship at the par-70 Laemchabang International Country Club yesterday.
The Khon Kaen native, seeking to win his second ATGT event and the winner's cheque of 450,000 baht, was on 15-under 195.
"Despite such a big advantage, I will not get carried away. Instead, I will stick to my game plan and try to improve my game as much as I can," said the golfer, who also won here in 2016.
Rattanon Wannasrichan was second on 201 following a 68, while Kasidit Lepkurte (64), Nirun Sae-ueng (67) and Somsak Kaopatum (68) were on eight under at the sixth leg of the 2018 All Thailand Golf Tour.
