Rally driver Ott Tanak was left counting his lucky stars after somehow walking away without any injuries from a horror crash.
The Estonian was competing on the second day of the Monte Carlo Rally, the opening round of this year's World Rally Championship, when the accident happened.
The incident occurred when the 32-year-old lost control of his vehicle midway through stage four, with Tanak's Hyundai i20 careering off the road through a section where speeds approached 110mph.
Footage from inside the car show it flipping over several times as it continues to travel down the side of a hill following the accident.
A different recording of the crash from a spectator also shows the vehicle smashing through a row of trees shortly after it left the road.
Mercifully it was reported that both Tanak and co-driver Martin Jarveoja were both able to walk away from the incident unscathed despite how scary the crash had looked from the footage.
As a result of the accident, the duo were forced to retire from the Monte Carlo Rally and were sent to hospital to undergo precautionary checks,
Though no doubt grateful to have avoided serious injury, the crash at the opening event of this year's World Championship is a blow to defending champion Tanak.
After finishing as runner-up to France's Sebastien Ogier in both 2017 and 2018, Tanak finally claimed his maiden world crown last year after winning six rallies.
The event in Monte Carlo was also the 32-year-old's first for Hyundai after making the switch from Toyota over the winter break.
Wales' Elfyn Evans led the way after the fifth stage, with Ogier ominously lying in wait in third with some 11 stages still to go before the end of the rally on Sunday.
This year's World Championship features 13 rounds in total, with the next event in Sweden next month.
