To fans all over the world, June 1 has become a global celebration of all things Outlander. The date on which creator Diana Gabaldon published her first book is now better known as World Outlander Day.
The cast and crew of the show, who are currently filming season six have kicked things off this year by thanking the most "creative, thoughtful, and passionate fans ever".
While Diana was quick to return the favour, thanking the cast and crew themselves, writing: "And the same to you guys! Wouldn't be the same without you all - HUGE thanks for all you do!"
The Outlander Universe has come a long way from the book that Diana once joked was practice for an actual novel, as now eight other books later and six seasons of a TV show it's now gained millions of fans all over the world.
Here are just some of the things Outlander fans have to look forward to this year.
Book Nine, Go Tell the Bees I'm Gone, has a release date

Season Six of Outlander is set to wrap filming soon

We've had various glimpses behind the curtains of the filming of season six but now it looks likely it is set to wrap soon, with fans already getting excited about a possible TV debut this year.
Though there's been no official news that filming is finished or even that it will air in 2021, speculation has been rife among fans that over the next week or two it'll be heading to post-production.
Could Lord John Grey make an appearance in season six of Outlander

We told you how the cast had released a video on Twitter for WOD thanking fans, well in amongst stars likes Sam Heughan, Caitríona Balfe, and Richard Rankin was another fan favourite who we haven't seen in a while.
Australian actor David Berry, who plays Lord John Grey, is one of the most popular characters from the show (with speculation rife he may even get his own spinoff show) and appeared in the clip with fans putting two and two together and realising that he could be making a surprise appearance in Season Six.
We could be getting more Men in Kilts
The first series has proved a huge hit but could we see more Men in Kilts goodness on the way?
It seems both Sam and Graham are confident it could happen with Graham stating in a recent interview: "We've barely scratched the surface there. And that's not even including the wider Scottish influence that went out into the rest of the world, like in America, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, even places like India and Brazil. Even France, which has such a traditional connection... I think hopefully, this is just the beginning."
And don't forget we'll also be seeing Graham McTavish in not one but two new shows

Not only has Graham who plays both Buck and Dougal MacKenzie in Outlander recently joined the cast of The Witcher for season two, but he's also just been announced in the line-up for the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon.
There's also a slight possibility that Buck will also be putting a reappearance in either season six or seven of Outlander too.
Whichever way you look at it, 2021 is going to be one of the biggest years for Outlander fans yet, and if that's not worth celebrating, we don't know what is.
