'World of difference!' - Arsenal fans spot the importance of Mikel Arteta's £45m transfer

Arsenal fans have spotted just how important Thomas Partey will be to any future success at the Emirates.

The Ghanaian signed from Atletico Madrid in a £45million transfer in the 2020 summer window. However, despite being the Gunners’ star midfielder on paper, he has only managed to muster 10 full 90 minutes in the Premier League after suffering from several injury blows.

This season has started in familiar fashion for him, too, after he limped off with an ankle injury in Arsenal’s pre-season fixture with Chelsea at the beginning of August.

He’s consequently missed the opening three Premier League fixtures of this campaign, games that the Gunners have lost convincingly.

They now sit bottom of the league with a goal difference of -9 going into Saturday’s clash with Norwich, who sit just one place above them.

Nevertheless, there’s plenty of time to turn the season around, and if Partey stays fit, Arsenal have a much better chance of doing that – at least according to the Gunners’ fans.

Take a look at what’s been said on social media site, Reddit.

And luckily, Arsenal have received a welcome boost ahead of their clash with Norwich after the 28-year-old returned to full training yesterday.

As reported by football.london, Partey was expected to be back in action after the international break as he looks to be named in the squad for the weekend's Premier League match.

Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny are currently on the sidelines through injury, while Granit Xhaka is recovering from COVID-19 and is suspended for Saturday's game.
