World Naked Bike Ride is coming to Yorkshire this summer

Attention all Yorkshire folk, you can forget about lycra, the best way to cycle is au naturel!

For one day only it will be socially acceptable to let it all hang out for a nude bike ride, and the entire day is geared towards making a positive change.

If you want to, you can have a leisurely ride around a sunny York city centre wearing NOTHING at all.

The Yorkshire event will take place in York on Saturday, June 22, and the dress code is "bare as you dare", so as you'd expect, this unique event attracts a decent number of spectators.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, get involved!

You can see a bit more detail on the event below..

Will I be arrested?

Generally public nudity is an offence, yet the organisers say: "From 2004 to 2012, there have been 59 UK Naked Bike Rides with a cumulative total of 13,000+ riders in 13 locations, and no arrests."

Why are they doing this?

The Facebook page for the York event details the motivation behind this bizarre event.

It says: "It's a global clothing-optional protest against oil dependency and car culture and a celebration of cycling and the power and individuality of our bodies. Basically it's as much fun as you can have on a bike in one day, it's free and in a great cause!"

Do I have to be naked?

No, nudity is not compulsory so riders can turn up wearing whatever they feel like, it's a pressure free situation!

Do I have to cycle?

Nope, any human-powered transport is fine, so you can even turn up on a skateboard or skates if you wanted to. And, if you're feeling lazy, you can just turn up and watch!

Keep an eye out for updates on the event Facebook page, you can find that here.
