World Leaders Congratulate PM Albanese On Election Results & Massive Labor Win

ICYMI, Anthony Albanese won the 2025 federal election last night. Leaders from all across the globe have since sent their congratulations to Albo over his massive victory for Labor on social media.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer was among the first leaders to congratulate Albo on X (formerly Twitter). 

“Congratulations to Anthony Albanese on your election win,” Starmer’s statement began. 

“The UK and Australia are as close as ever — which goes to show that long-distance friendships can be the strongest.

“I know that we will continue to work together on our shared ambitions, including on trade, investment and energy, working towards a better life for working people in the UK and Australia.”

In his statement, Starmer also highlighted the need to continue supporting Ukraine’s struggle against Russia, describing Vladimir Putin’s war as “illegal”. 

“Our collaboration on defence, especially in the AUKUS programme will continue to grow, and as fellow steadfast supporters of Ukraine, we will continue to stand together against Putin’s illegal war for as long as it takes.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also sent his congratulations to Albo via X, highlighting Australia’s “unwavering support” to Ukraine’s cause. 

“I wish you continued success in serving the people of Australia and delivering meaningful achievements,” he wrote. 

“Ukraine sincerely values Australia’s unwavering support and its principled stance on ending Russia’s war and securing a dignified and lasting peace.

“We look forward to further strengthening our productive partnership in pursuit of peace, security, and freedom.”

French President Emmanuel Macron posted a photo of himself and Albo in his congratulations post on X

“In this face of global challenges, Australia and France have so much to achieve together — especially in the Indo-Pacific,” he wrote. 

“Let us continue to write, with ambition and friendship, the new chapter of our partnership.”

US secretary of state Marc Rubio wrote a statement on Albo’s victory, calling Australia a “valued ally” of the United States. 

“Our shared values and democratic traditions provide the bedrock for an enduring alliance and for the deep ties between our peoples,” the statement read. 

“The United States looks forward to deepening its relationship with Australia to advance our common interests and promote freedom and stability in the Indo-Pacific and globally.”

President Donald Trump has yet to make a statement on Australia’s federal election result.
