World famous sports statistician predicts Championship finish - where Bristol City, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa come in promotion race

Bristol City are still on course to make the play-offs according to a leading data analyst.

The Robins recorded a 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic, conceding a last-gasp equaliser to drop two points in the race for the top six.

Yet Five Thirty Eight , the brainchild of leading statistician Nate Silver, still predicts the Robins to finish in the play-offs.

Silver was named one of the world's 100 most influential people after correctly calling the outcome of both the 2008 and 2012 US elections, but his background is actually in sports stats, and his website have created a data model to predict the Championship.

It is good news for the Robins, who are said to still have a 61 per cent chance of making the play-offs - and even a 14 per cent chance of finishing in the top two.
