World famous data analyst predicts Premier League finish - where Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal come

A leading data analyst has offered his thoughts on how the Premier League will finish.

Nate Silver was named one of the world's most 100 influential people after he correctly called the outcomes of both the 2008 and 2012 US elections, yet his background is actually in sports stats.

His website, Five Thirty Eight, has now created a data model to find out who will win the Premier League.

It is good news for Man City, who are predicted to finish top of the table with 96 points - they have a 56 per cent chance of winning the title.

Liverpool would finish second in heartbreaking circumstances - coming behind Pep Guardiola's men on goal difference alone. They have been given a 44 per cent chance of claiming first place.

Manchester United handed double transfer boost, Chelsea join race to sign Philippe Coutinho - Premier League rumours

Spurs would finish third, two points ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal, who have been given a 66 per cent chance of reaching the top four.

After Chelsea's draw with Burnley, they are predicted to finish fifth on 72 points, and they have been given a 31 per cent chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League.

Manchester United's poor recent form would see them come sixth on 70 points - they have just a 10 per cent chance of finishing in the top four.
