World famous data analyst gives Champions League prediction - where Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur come

Nate Silver has given his thoughts on who will win the Champions League.

Silver, named one of the 100 most influential people in the world after correctly calling the outcomes of both the 2008 and 2012 US elections, has his background in sports data.

His website Five Thirty Eight has created a model to predict who will win the Champions League final.

It is good news for Liverpool, with Silver rating their chances of winning the final the highest out of all the clubs left.

Liverpool, who beat Porto last night in the first leg of their quarter-final tie, have a 30 per cent chance of winning the tournament, and a 52 per cent chance of making the final.

Manchester United set to launch £50m bid for midfielder; Liverpool star to leave in summer; Arsenal step up chase for Champions League star

Barcelona have a 25 per cent chance of winning the tournament and a 24 per cent chance of making the final - they have a massive 81 per cent probability of beating Manchester United.

Despite losing to Spurs last night, Man City have a 21 per cent chance of winning the final should they get through to it.

Spurs and Juventus both have a probability of just eight per cent of winning the title, with Ajax's chances rated at six per cent.

Manchester United have a two per cent chance of winning the tournament, and Porto have under a one per cent chance.
